GENERATE OF VCX CALL REPORTS

       After completing the Network tracing project, a new task was passed to me by IT manager.I was asked to learn on using of 3com VCX call reports program to generate monthly report of the external call that have been made by Sunedison employees .

·        Call Detail Records (CDRs) contain information about each call that is processed by the VCX IP Telephony Suite & generated by either a gateway, the IP Messaging server, or the call processor.


·        You can schedule the Call Reports application to retrieve CDRs at a specific time or you can retrieve them on demand. The Call Reports application also includes an option for createng reports that contain a subset of CDR information by filtering content.


        Moreover ,to get to know more about this programme ,I was asked to have a conversation with Mr Ev Nelson ,telecommunication engineer from St.Peter plant,USA bcoz usually the programme will be handle by him.Before I had a conversation with ,I had went through email that previously have been sent to ipoh IT department and managed to get a image/idea on generates monthly report.




 VCX Call Reports Application / Layout
 Here are the steps I took to generate monthly report of Ipoh user external call records.

1.Downloading Data from VCS call reports:
Click Data, then VCX, then Download VCX Records.  The system will ask to verify the time zone – click OK and the system will pull the latest records.











2.Selecting the FAC Report format:



















3.Changing Display Preferences:
This process is to decide the view of records according to the duration “ only records from last column”. 

















4.Export data to an excel sheet:
(“Temp CDR File” in My Documents):












5.Filter & sum the total duration of call :








6.Generate Report & record of all the ipoh user id with the top 10 user:
